I feel the world would be a happier, smarter place if we: 1) recognised that what we feel as 'love' is a projection of our feelings onto other people, and 2) realised that all of our actions are intrinsically selfish. Everything we do we do for ourselves, even the most 'selfless' acts. Sounds cynical and sad. But common sense is always a bad guide. What's good for you is what's good for others too. And there's a much deeper love than what we feel.
