Dr Nick's stay at home gym #3. Just to recap: - your body is unlike other structures because it gets stronger under loads, not weaker - everything you do 'shapes' your body; it's *how* you use it that's important, not whether you use it (the usual exercise idea). Look at this happy old lady having a cup of tea. What 'parts' of her body is she using to do that? You could say her arm, hand, her mouth obviously, etc. But really, she's using all of her body. You're always using all of your body, in every single thing you do, how could you not? You need to breathe and be supported in your chair, and so on. Try for starters just being aware what all of you is doing, in anything you do, rather than be only focused on the cup (if it's drinking a cup of tea for example). That awareness, simple effortless observation, is the key to getting 'fit' by just doing ordinary everyday things. You don't need to do a thing, the awareness will automatically correct bad patterns of use in your body. And your body will become shaped entirely differently, you can become 'ripped' doing nothing more than sipping tea every day.
