This is the main mechanicals of an EV. Beautifully simple. Electric motors (in red here) on the axles so no energy losses through having to translate motion to the wheels. The drivetrain in an ICE is so ridiculous, vertical piston motion, that then has to be transmitted to circular motion at the wheels through complex mechanical transformations, each of which can fail and is grossly inefficient, as well as having to go through a gearbox. Also why EVs will be so much cheaper in the longer run, because the design is so simple, with very few moving parts. And why they rarely need servicing, very little can go wrong with them. Also vastly cheaper to run, and much more grunt than an ICE. You can see why ICEs are about to become extinct dinosaurs of transport.
