It really is. Unfortunately the Americans will likely fuck it up for everybody doing what their culture always does, try to use it to make a tiny handful of people richer than most of the planet combined. I spend far more time discussing ideas with AI than with people now. People are hopeless at ideas, they’re obsessed with imitative status games, with their social position, their precious identities. Humans are so blind to that behaviour, catastrophe is all that changes their minds. And even then it just shifts their status games to a new set of ideas, if they survive the catastrophe.
