Here's the bind Western carmakers made for themselves, by not building EVs much much sooner. Superbly engineered and amazingly cheap Chinese cars may destroy the Western car industry. The West will try tariffs. But who's the biggest market for the West's own cars? China. We're dumb. So dumb.
