70% of French electricity comes from nuclear power. They’re in trouble now, because nuclear power uses a LOT of water. And with climate change water is drying up there. The Loire ran completely dry in places this year. For the first time in nearly 50 years France became a net importer of energy. The nuclear power stations are also ageing, and need replacement, half were shut down at times in 2022. It costs a fortune to build a single nuclear power station, tens of billions of dollars. It can also take decades. Australia is a much drier country than France. Some suggest nuclear is our future here. That’s because they’re morons. You can knock up a full solar power station in 6 months for a tiny fraction of the cost. You don’t need a drop of water.
