Watched a doco on the making of ice creams, classics like the Gaytime and Magnum. The factory in question makes 5 million per DAY. Somebody is eating a lot of ice creams. Something that jumped out at me was the myth again of the superiorty of humans over machines. No human could make these ice creams to their state of perfection, could make the ice cream so perfectly textured, the chocolate the perfect thickness and hardened just right over the top of the ice cream etc. It reminded me of Jamie Oliver telling people to just buy custard rather than making it, you’ll never make it as well as a machine can.
