A litre of petrol contains 8.9 kWh of energy. A standard petrol car might use 7-10 L/100km. So 62.3 - 89 kWh of energy, for every 100 km travelled. A good EV will use 14-20 kWh of energy to travel 100 km. While a petrol car will carry 534 kWh of energy in a 60L tank, the EV only needs to carry 70-80 kWh of energy in its battery, to do the same distance. The ‘range’ of a petrol or diesel is bought by wasting hundreds of kWh of energy, in every tank. 80% of it goes straight out the exhaust, unused. They’re rubbish.
