I have a theory that Facebook is turning into a giant newspaper, produced by the public. Not only that many people get their news from FB - which is true - but that just about everything you see in the FB newsfeed is reproducing what we used to get in newspapers. Letters to the editor-type rants, social pages (lots and lots of photos of peoples’ social lives), personal ads, confessional outpourings, actual news stories, classifieds. Etc. Maybe the newspaper isn't dead, as some journalists fear, it's just become democratised. Many more contributors and editors now.
