Sometimes it’s the little things. We need to get rid of friction brakes I think, they’re filthy. The air we breathe is chock full of the rubbish these things produce, and it’s seriously bad for us. There are frictionless brakes, a bit more expensive and more complicated but they also allow energy recovery from braking. Trains have had them for years.
