Many see modern activism as ‘democracy’ in action. The idea that ‘the people‘ rise up to bring about change. It’s all bollocks. Protest-activism is just the remnant of earlier revolutions. It’s exactly the same social model, repeated ad nauseum, because the revolution destroyed every other memory of how people can act. Revolutions destroy societies, and activism continues that destruction, but more gradually. It’s a process of breaking things, without pause. Most societies never recover from revolutions. You’ll never convince activist folk this is what they’re doing, they’re zealots. All revolutionaries are, by definition.
