Another from the Roy Morgan report. Australians hate their governments in good times, and love them in a crisis. Look at that astronomical jump in love for national lockdowns in 2020. (The 2008 jump was Kevin Rudd’s rescue of Oz from the GFC.) The implications of this? I think National Cabinet’s decision to let Covid rip in Australia was the greatest act of political suicide in our history. To not only not protect Australians from a crisis, but to actually inflict it upon them. Deliberately. I think the election will be maybe the greatest electoral bloodbath in our history. Not calling it, just calling my gut feeling. The Premiers who backed the let it rip will be toast too, when their elections arrive. South Australia is the trailer for that movie.
