The ten favourite albums thing - what if the question was 'what are the BEST 10 albums of all time?' That's a can of worms in my experience, because it nearly always degenerates into some version of 'it's just a matter of opinion'. It isn't though, for example just for starters albums sell vastly different amounts, reflecting that people value them differently. If you argue that's not a measure of a 'good' album, it means you have another value system that opposes that as a measure. You can't avoid values, or quality, in your judgement. Opinion is our way of trying to avoid discussing our values. We are always valuing, individually and as a group.
