How can something so microscopically tiny destroy whole economies, and wipe out millions of people, in very quick time? Microbes don’t respect rank or wealth or any other human distinction. They keep telling us that they rule the world, and that they even make us. We don’t listen, we call them ‘germs’ and try to destroy them or lock them up.
