I often talk about gravity, and how the Earth is pushing UP underneath you in everything you do, rather than you constantly falling down onto it. Here’s why I think people rarely notice this miracle. If asked to feel that pushing up, people will usually ‘go down’ to feel it. They’ll take their attention down to their feet or bum to feel that contact. And there’s the problem, it’s there in the description. They’re ‘going down’. Your entire body is focused in a downwards direction, which is what then makes that contact under your body feel like your ‘weight’ pressing down on the ground. You’re dropping your body with your attention, onto the ground. But if you don’t go down to feel that contact, if you stay UP in your activity in the world, and then feel it, you’ll feel something very different. Say you’re watching TV. Keep watching TV, and feel that contact under your bum come TO YOU, while you keep watching, ‘up’ in the world. Feel it at the same time as you watch TV, or whatever you’re doing. Then you’ll start to feel it for what it actually is, a constant, every second, pushing of this massive planet underneath you, holding you up all day and night, your entire life. It takes practice to make the shift, but nothing will change your life more. You are floating in space, like an astronaut, every day.
