I shared this before. Humans copy each other, to attain status in groups. This also means it’s easy for the tiniest handful of bad faith actors to create havoc. For example, installation of wind and solar farms has been stalled because of ‘community opposition’, just as Covid action was shut down for the same reason. Bullshit in both cases, it was a tiny number of bad faith actors who generated the community anger. The community couldn’t care less about energy, unless it’s *led* to care less. The good news it also means it’s relatively simple to shut down bad faith actors. There will only be a relative handful of them. Social media platforms could do it in a day. No need to ‘educate’ the entire community, societies don’t run on information, they run on status. Social media won’t because the owners of the platforms are themselves bad faith actors, who want control of societies.
