BYD’s latest plug-in hybrids will do 2100 km on a tank of fuel. Hybrids will disappear over time, they’re a transition technology for most driving, but BYD is keeping an eye on the ‘range anxiety’ (mental illness) trend to protect revenue in the interim. Worth remembering that hybrids don’t just save you lots of fuel, they have much better performance than petrol or diesel engines alone.
