I think we might be surprised how many Australians would happily sell the country for cash even at the lower end of that Trumpian scale. Huge numbers of people are more or less living in the US already, because they live inside social media. They’d probably even welcome the change. I know many are unhappy at our culture being called a kidult culture. They need to spend a bit more time dealing with modern adults. Australians withdrew $38 billion from their super earlier in the pandemic, to pay for things like gambling, restaurant and takeaway food, travel, and home renovations. Put a hashtag on it and they’d climb over each other to sign up.
