For most of the last 3-4000 years, China was the only world superpower. Then in the past 300 years Western countries discovered fossil fuels. That gave them a temporary dominance. That dominance is now rapidly coming to an end, with Asia as always being very smart and leading the way in the replacement of fossil fuels. You can see how other countries like India are bypassing fossil fuels as a route to success now, quickly detouring away from that axis of the triangle. The empire of the West is over, Asia is resurgent and will resume world domination that it has had for most of the last 3 to 4000 years.
