A mapping of Covid variants. When you allow a pathogen free rein to infect people at will, it will keep evolving. We’re not throwing any resistance at it, so it’s doing whatever it likes. At this rate of evolution it’s already figured out how to beat our vaccines, which are only just managing to stop the worst disease (and not even that, in record numbers of people).
