Covid has created dysfunctional immune systems, leaving people wide open to disease and unable to resolve that disease. SARS-CoV-2 is linked to “an unusually high level of ‘indiscriminate’ killing of T cells,”and is “reminiscent of” measles, which can cause immune amnesia by depleting memory B cells (a different type of immune cell), leaving people vulnerable to pathogens they were previously immune to.” The paper also demolishes the ‘immunity debt’ idea that became so popular, that this was happening because lockdowns had stopped people catching lots of diseases, like your immune system needs a good workout.
