My gravity obsession. I would bet people think they feel that ‘weight from gravity’ in everything they do. But I’d bet very few of them feel that ground reaction force. We tend to see the ground as something we fall onto, a passive lump of rock. In fact it’s pushing up into you every second of every day, in everything you do. It supports you, so that you’re free from having to ‘hold yourself up’. What you’re feeling as your weight is not that downwards arrow, you can’t feel that. It acts on the ground, not on you. It’s you being out of balance, so that the ground reaction force is creating unbalanced forces inside you. Once you get back over your support properly, all feelings of weight will disappear.
