I encourage people to learn about AI, rather than just emote about it using trending viral themes on the socials. Your brain is a neural network, just like AI. It has up to 100 billion neurons ‘wired’ together. Those neurons ‘fire’ (electrically) with stimulations from your environment, through your senses. The patterns of that firing are what create your thinking. The network learns from your interactions with your environment, and those learnings then get hard-wired into your neuronal network. But your brain is an analog neural network, whereas AI is a digital neural network. Researchers did look at making AI an analog computer rather than digital because that would mean using a lot less energy. The problem with analog is that hard-wiring. It makes the things you learn much harder to share with other brains. Why we need an education system, to try to re-wire brains. Mostly that education fails. This is where digital neural networks will surpass human intelligence. By locating the learning in the digital model rather than in the chips, they avoid the hard-wiring problem. It means each digital ‘brain’ can immediately update all other digital brains, with no education needed. I posted that this is how Tesla’s self-driving works. It’s a global digital neutral network. Something one car learns becomes something every car learns.
