I'm waiting to see senior staff of major organisations announce they will be taking significant pay cuts to help keep staff in jobs. Many of these senior managers, including at my previous employer, could easily afford to live on only 10-40% of their current salaries. That saved 60-90% would keep several people in employment at this time. In a University I would extend this to senior academic and general staff too, many on hundreds of thousands per year, only a fraction of which would be needed to keep their lives functioning pretty much as normal. Not holding my breath.
