It looks like Tesla will release the Model YL 6-seater in Australia today. Perfectly timed, with the pressures on fuel. We’ll probably get one, and will be free of fuel bowsers forever. When these were launched in China last year, all 40,000 they had planned sold out in a single day. About 500L more cabin volume than a Toyota Prado or Landcruiser, and with the hatch-type opening a much bigger entry space for goods you want to carry, with a perfectly flat stowage floor. 0-100 in 4.5 seconds, and loads of other advanced tech including adaptive dampers. The longer wheel base also gives it great stability on the road, that luxury cars often use. You can see some mild off-roading in this clip, the AWD Teslas have superb traction, with all that direct, enormous torque from the electric motors. You can see them even tow semis out of snow drifts.
