I have friends who are actuaries. Actuaries are an excellent BS detector, because they calculate risks and those calculations are tied to peoples’ money. So no matter how much spin and propaganda is out there, reality will speak, through actuarial risk, and through that to the insurers actuaries often work for. And here’s the perfect example. Decades of pure fantasy climate denial, where governments did nothing to manage the greatest risk in human history, have loaded all that risk onto individuals, through their insurance. And now that insurance is either completely unaffordable, or not even available. Governments are doing the same with Covid, shifting all of the publicly-managed risk (what’s called ‘public health’) onto individuals. It will fail in the same way, killing and maiming millions. As always, look to the actuaries. Covid is already excluded from many insurance policies.
