I've had a book of Ainslie Roberts' Dreamtime paintings for years, and they've always fascinated me. It seems for aboriginal people, the key is to have eternal ('everywhen') agencies at the root of your society. Imagine that, something longer than an election cycle to shape your society. Eternally long. The idea of God used to do that for us. We haven't figured out a replacement.
