The cheapest way to convert your old standard definition TV to HD is to sit further away from it. It’s the same argument here (ignore the headline, it’s not working correctly, it’s about TVs), that the new ultra HD 4K and especially 8K TVs are probably often a waste of money. Ditto for a lot of the resolution people spend thousands for in cameras.
