Tom Cruise is an interesting cultural thing. Currently marketing his latest movie, and genuinely charming and professional and gracious with his time. And yet he’s a global leader of a cult. (He also can’t act, but it doesn’t tend to matter in the movies he’s in.) The world has spent months going to town on Musk’s bizarre salute. Everybody forgets Tom’s.
