People who study the way high school shapes our whole culture made an interesting finding. In most cases, your status in high school matches how your adult life turns out as well. With one interesting exception. The high school ‘princess’, high status because of popularity. Women who were princesses in high school often fail in adult life, without the context of the conga line of suckhole friends that gave them that status in high school. Social media however may be giving the high school princess a new lease of adult life, by maintaining that conga line throughout life. A large number of peoples’ friends on social media were also their friends in high school. It’s a technology entrenching high school culture in adult life.
