Everybody lies, we're all politicians. Not because we're dishonest, but because what we think people mean and feel is always our own translation. Love the most brutal example, nobody loves us, they love their own idea of us. None of this is avoidable, each person is ultimately unknowable by another person. The secret is to live that unknowability, the sparks it creates. Everything else is co-dependency.
