We’ve often understood reality using photographic metaphors and analogies. Like we get a ‘picture’ of it. But reality is much more like a hologram than like a photo. If you smash a hologram plate, every piece of the smashed plate still has the entire hologram image visible in it. Reality is a bit like that, I think, all of it is in every grain of sand, as the saying goes, it’s not bits and pieces.
