Lithgow is being left high and dry by having political representation at all 3 - local, State and federal - levels by a party that denies this emergency is even happening. That party’s own core constituency, farmers, is screaming at them to do something. It’s falling on deaf ears, the party was bought by Gina Reinhart years ago and became a fossil fuel puppet. Some mines in Lithgow are already closed, and one of the power stations. When the rest go (and they will, much faster than we think, the foreign companies who own them will shed them as stranded assets), there’s not much to fall back on.
