I've often posted about how 'the economy' isn't even a thing. It's a political invention designed to replace public life with the dominant cultural form humanity has used for nearly all of its history - feudalism. How does it do that? It pretends societies are markets, and a market is separate individuals with no collective connection. Like a big machine, which you drive with controls like interest rates. Which destroys society and public-focused life in one step. There is no public in an economy, just customers. And here we are, we've arrived exactly where I predicted we would. Back at feudalism. Landowners, and peasants. https://www.news.com.au/finance/economy/australian-economy/australia-should-prepare-for-the-death-of-the-middle-class-experts-warn/news-story/cfdb521814fef5a1b6c686cd4c3a1f0e
