Peter Dutton took the Trump playbook to the last election and got absolutely smashed by Albanese. Pauline is having another go, selling Australia as a Trump franchise. She’s now going backwards again, probably because the huge number of disaffected LNP and ALP voters she needs to win over heard what she had to say at the Press Club and thought crikey. If Albanese can smash Hansonism as well, he’ll surely go down in history as the most effective political leader of our time, globally, or perhaps of any time. It’s extremely difficult to defeat populism. He clobbered it at the last election.
