Lots to agree with in the letter, and also in the criticism of it. I’m never comfortable with public lynching as a substitute for due process. I know the same sort of nuts who use free speech to support hate speech are also rallying around due process, on this topic. But the presumption of innocence and right to a fair trial - you don’t mess with those principles. That aspect of #metoo has bothered me. I also worry we’re lumping all sorts of quite different behaviours under the one banner here, as the letter says.
