Who is ‘we’? Notice how often ‘the people’ are spoken about, as if that actually existed. Look at the faces in any crowd, different, each doing their own thing for their own reason. The world over people are trying to figure out what ‘the people’ want. The people don’t want anything, they don’t exist. Lots of people exist.
