The spoilers are making hay with electricty prices still being high. They’re high because our ‘peaking’ plants, in peak times, are still run by gas, which is hideously expensive. But batteries and pumped hydro are filling that need rapidly, an enormous amount of storage is coming online in the next 1-2 years. We’ll then be like California. There’s already a huge amount of storage in play in Oz, driving that peaking price down. We would have already arrived here years ago, if it wasn’t for 10 years of obstruction and deliberate inaction by the previous idiot government, trying to destroy Australia’s enormous renewable energy advantages. They’re still trying to get us to send hundreds of billions of your dollars overseas, to buy oil, gas, and nuclear power plants. Even our beloved coal is already mostly foreign-owned.
