Social media has consequences. The wilful destruction of medical research in the US, at a time when medicine is making huge advances against major diseases, is entirely due to the power of health ‘influencers’ on social media. One of whom is now running the Health Department in the US, employing other influencers as deputies. A culture run on popularity/likes doesn’t survive. That’s the culture of Year 9, of high school. It doesn’t work in the adult world, it destroys everything as social teams look to win their battles against other social teams. Strangely, most don’t see that elections began this rot - social media is just accelerating the collapse.
