All the poll numbers look terrible for Trump, particularly in the groups that he brought across to the Republican side, like Latino voters. Total collapse in support. This is how populist surges always end, the crazy coalitions of voters fantasy politics puts together are fragile and temporary. Many are still trying to portray America right now as a serialisation of George Orwell’s 1984. Americans *always* do that, it’s in the cultural DNA, they’re a revolutionary society that never matured to having institutions run the place. So everything is populism, everything looks like authoritarianism to somebody, and everything demands a revolution.
