Bats carry up to 130 viruses at any one time, none of which make them sick at all. They pass them onto us, including coronavirus, and we get ‘sick’. But that’s our own body doing that. What we call flu or a cold or coronavirus are all our own bodies, not the viruses. To me this is possibly the pathway to breakthroughs in understanding infectious disease. Maybe our immune systems are way too highly strung, they’re killing us.
