The best managers I've worked with are like the best teachers and best parents. They build routines. Habits. The hardest thing in the world to do. The worst managers now dominate workplaces, constantly changing everything and sending everybody into spirals of confusion and anger. Can you remember a new manager where you work who wasn't focused on disrupting everything you've ever done? Usually to add another line to a CV, which they then use to move somewhere else within 5 years.
