Mozart can teach us about resilience. I think we often approach life situations backwards, choosing the emotion we want, and then trying to shape our life to get that emotion. We ‘want to be happy’ or positive, or whatever. But emotions are effects, not causes. Look at Mozart, died at 35 at the hands of a microbe, lived like many at that time a very hard life, not always with enough money to feed his family etc. His response wasn’t to try to be happy, his response was to just keep doing what he did, in his case create probably the greatest music of all time. That made him happy, as a side effect. Resilience is about thinking, about shaping the bitch that is reality in beautiful and unexpected ways. True joy comes from understanding, and nothing else. https://youtu.be/xYHJRhRym1U
