When collective life is pulverised into a mass of fighting social media teams, fighting for status, the only thing that brings us together collectively is mass trending euphorias. The mad rush to join what everybody else is doing. Society as a giant schoolyard, a gig. No working together towards some higher end or purpose, just big crowds imitating one another. Did you know this is Split Enz’s 4th reunion tour, in 20 years? Our mass euphorias now are festivals of imitative nostalgia. Stuck in late adolescence, at best.
