I haven’t watched much of the soccer World Cup. Preening multi-millionaire players and their nil-all draws, with the Hollywood fake dives and constant harassment of the referee with fake outrage. The game might actually be less tedious if they had fewer players on the field. 10 is too many out front, making scoring goals incredibly difficult. In a contact sport that’s not a problem as much, because you can literally man-handle your way through the defence. In soccer even looking at another player can trigger one of the fake dives to the ground and yellow and red cards, which are like pit stops in ridiculous F1, the only way to get a result.
