Marshall McLuhan was a thinker well beyond his time, many didn't understand him when he was writing in the mid-20th century. A conservative professor of literature, he took on the job of trying to understand the modern world of communications and other technology that he was living in. And he did it brilliantly, even today a lot of other thinkers haven't caught up. This quote says a lot about how we ended up with Trump. And it's not the kids' fault, it's everybody's fault for letting democracy become this.
