Ever noticed that when we drink, the ‘last drink’ is what shapes how we drink, right from the first drink? Is this idea of the ‘last’ also what drives our individual behaviour in everything else too? How much money we spend? How much and how hard we argue with others? How intensely we flirt? I think it applies cross the board. The ‘last’ is the action that would take us over a threshold into a new type of person, that we don’t want to be. We don’t wait to reach those limits, the limit shapes how we act right from the start. Those limits *are* our ‘morals’. Morality is about limits, not rules.
