At school you learn about compound interest. It's the basis of nearly all investment. It's an exponential function, which you can see in this graph. Which means it's a time bomb right at the core of our societies, because if your society lives on that exponential curve, it will blow up repeatedly. The financial industry has taken over our societies, and compound interest is their raw material.
