Think I’ve said it before, but while I love dogs, dog-love is that slobbery, needy love that repels us in other people. I much prefer cat-love, where you never really know how much you’re even liked. In all honesty I’ve always preferred that in relationships too, that sense of a strong identity, not easily ‘tamed’.
