Freddie Mercury decided to live with the threat of HIV, for a while. He thought he needed to ‘live his life’. The parallels I see with the widespread attitude towards Covid now fill me with despair. Most people probably dismiss me as some obsessive deranged loon. Every day I urge people to act now, before it’s too late. I get all my Covid info from the researchers and doctors working at the frontline of this lethal disease. It doesn’t feel lethal when you get it. HIV doesn’t either. EBV feels just like ‘glandular fever’, until it kills people with MS.
